#MailboxMonday: A Photo Journey of the Book Mail I’ve Forgotten to Share

I always feel really lucky to receive a lot of amazing bookmail–both from friends, authors, publishers, and giveaways.

There’s always an inner battle for me between thanking the person (and I am so grateful to be able to read these amazing books) and trying to not flaunt my privilege in a way, especially because I live in the US and I’m open to so many more opportunities than many of my international friends.

So, first off, I have this little offer for y’all, as a way for me to balance things out!

If you receive less than 20 books a month, drop a link to any of your content you’d like me to check out + potentially boost below (blog posts, art, etc.)!

Not only is it because I am horrible at blog hopping, but also because I need to catch up on all the amazing things happening to y’all! So please please please take me up on this offer! I’ll make sure to peek back at everyone’s sites!

I also want you to remember that the little red X is in the corner of your screens, and if reading this post is bad for your mental health: don’t read it. You have no obligation to read my posts & I want to make sure you’re doing what’s best for you!

Sometimes blogging can feel like a comparison game, even though it shouldn’t, and if you think reading this will negatively affect you, I urge you to turn away. Read a book + do something that makes you happy, not torture yourself over locational privileges.

Now that the intro is out of the way, onto the fun stuff!

I always feel so grateful to have so many people in my corner supporting my blog, and receiving books is one piece of the pie! To all the publishers, authors, friends, and giveaway hosters who send me things: thank you! Thank you for thinking of this little blogger & sending books my way to fuel my reading + blogging + bookish activities!

I’ve taken photos of most of my recent book mail, but I’ve also shared some of October’s on Twitter. I won’t be including much commentary as this post is more about featuring some of my photos, but I am so excited to dive into all of these!

No joke, I’m pretty sure I screamed when I saw Valerie’s name on the package. So many thanks to The NOVL for this beautiful ARC of The Wicked King! I am so excited to know what all the #OutofContextWickedKing means!!! O.o

Can we talk about very anticipated reads? Strange Days was one of my most anticipated reads of December, and I’m so grateful to Penguin Teen for sending it my way and letting me be part of the blog tour! Expect my review + a really awesome guest post from Constantine to go up on Thursday!

(Seriously. If you like aliens and realistic teens, you need to check this one out!)

Thank you so much to both Laura Silverman (for the bookmark!!!) and Megan Manzano (for the ARC!!!) for being so cool and sending these to me! Jewish YA is killing it in 2019 and I am so excited to read & pass this one on! The excitement is seriously real.

Let’s talk about the very cool + very queer sci-fi King Arthur retelling coming out next March because. Yeah. I’m so excited that I donned a sweater and took some mirror selfies with this book. Huge thanks to Jimmy Patterson for sending me this ARC! I cannot wait to dive in and devour this read!

 

I don’t know if y’all remember or not, but I blabbered on about postcard sends in one of my blog posts, and here is the fruition of one of those sends! Not only did I get the cool enamel pin that everyone received, but apparently my postcard was one of 100 grand prize winners who got a Map of Days viewfinder! Yes, I totally squealed with excitement! Thank you so much to Penguin Teen for letting teens like me enter preorder giveaways with just an index card and stamp!

 

Can we talk about how I have some of the coolest friends ever? Nat is so amazing I am in awe of both her and her entire family (go mom!!!) for actually slaying YALLFest! They are the coolest and I am so grateful to have amazing friends who send me books that I’m so excited to read!

Did you know that an ARC of Joy’s debut was the first physical ARC I’ve ever received, and I will never let that ARC go? This book is not only such a fighter and a stellar read, it’s also got a sentimental place in my heart!

So it’s fitting that we’re coming full circle with Joy McCullough being so amazing and sending me this hardback with the loveliest note inside.

Speaking of more blog tours, I’m part of the blog tour for Cynthia Hand’s The Afterlife of Holly Chase, a Christmas Carol retelling that you don’t want to miss! I’m about halfway through and it’s really good so far, so huge thanks to Cynthia Hand and Sarah K. (The Book Traveler) for arranging this tour & sending me this read! Expect my post to go live this Friday!

Have I mentioned how Margot Wood & ONI Press are the coolest of the cool & the feed my budding graphic novel obsession? Because they are the coolest and I am so excited to dive into Archival Quality! This one sounds amazing and I love discovering new graphic novels to read! (And the illustrations are gorgeous!)

Rae is not only one of my favorite people in the book community, she also hosted this awesome Escaping from Houdini giveaway and I managed to win? SO COOL. Super huge thank you to Rae for not only hosting this giveaway, but letting me read the new revised ending of book 3, haha!
